the ep name “the night is yours” is inspired by a billboard which says “the world is yours” in the movie “scarface”. another van believes that the night never belongs to anyone, the night is itself an eternal dj, and this ep is full of tracks that touch you the most before sunrise.

*** check b2: !!! *** bath-come-london party purveyors, origins, take to channelling some of their creativity into the creation of their own origins label. at the helm for the debut release is bristolian up-and-comer tommosini. having heard move d unleash the beauty of another dimension at freerotation last year, origins knew they had to find out who the mastermind behind this deep house gem was and the rest, they say, is history. another dimension transports you through the galaxies via a combination of dreamy pads, crisp percussion, full-bodied bass and those sensual deep tinged vocals. future classic in the making. the a2 i dont stop carries on the u.s flavoured deep house with a vocal house track that wouldn t be out of place coming from the shores of chicago masterfully intertwining a bumping bassline, soft organs and those introspective, luscious vocals. flip it over and you re treated to two interpretations of another dimension. first up fellow bristol bass badboy, hodge, serves up a signature remix, chopping the vocals and layering them behind a pounding kick and machine gun percussion to give that bass heavy flavour hes become so well known for. deadbeat steps up to close out the ep with a heavyweight techno rework of the original, complete with hypnotic bleeps, phased hats, and intermittent sub bass goodness, all tied together with a driving kick to give a real industrial feel to the remix.

the fourth release of another earth, a small dutch vinyl only label with limited 300 pressings, has finally arrived. the a side is proper techno created by dave simon. a1 in acid we trust is a peak time acid techno track and a2 path of ability has a warm detroit feel. the b side by anders ilar together with john h is more obscure. deep weird acid techno that seems to come from another planet.

channeling that classic playful braindance feel of early afx, u-ziq and fellow acid-connoissuer luke vibert, pearl river sound (real name roberto semeraro) has quietly builded up his own profile in the last 5 years with releases on r&s recordss own meda fury, further records, seagrave and x-kalay. not another average idm/breakbeat throwback tough: here prs delivers train with no name, a 6-tracker of razor-like rephlexian science, taking inspiration from his ambivalent work with laptop & old hardware machines, yet, the magic lays down in arrangements and spaces, builded around jacking bassline swings and detuned, lush pads all melted together in powerful u-turn rhythms and genius sampling, from the moody opener elek41 to the demented vocals of cccc2 and mr continue or the straight-up acid of mono sequencer bass. occasional walls of white noise and distorted tones emerge in train 2, possibly his most tense track ever but also one that reveals new sonic solutions for a forthcoming full length that should see the light anytime next year on the label. sharing the same sensibility of fellow roman institutions like lory d or leo anibaldi to keep the acid legacy of the city alive, mixed up is proud to start a new beginning with this release. full sleeved and cut at 45.

the a side is a killer and well sought after reissue of the sonics “find myself another girl”. a tune that lands in one of our favorite sub genres - happy break up songs. the sonics rip into it with a dance floor friendly drum beat covered in uplifting horn arrangements, singing the tune of someone who is relieved to be out of a relationship gone sour. a proper dance floor burner sure to be in all the soul dj boxes. the b side is a never before released version of the classic and often covered “spooky”. taken from the original master tapes and edited down to fit a 45, this is the first time this tune is seeing the light of day. texas outfit s.c.a.m. takes the tune on a proper journey, easing into it on this 45 edit and finding their way through horn crescendos and dropping down to drums bass and rhythm guitar. an easy favorite version of the hit tune that collectors will love to get their hands on.

it sounded all right through two walls, so what s the problem? the final words of two walls, the fast and very catchy leading track of dj marcelle s new record, sum up an aesthetic almost lost in today s musical climate, where often a pleasing attitude and overproduced music sadly rule, even in so-called alternative circles. the quote comes from the late mark e. smith (1957 - 2018), legendary frontman of the fall, and is taken from some of the conversations marcelle had with smith over the years. smith is referring to a recording process but for marcelle his words stand for something bigger.

peter kadergard has been active in the helsingborg (sweden) electronic music scene since the early 1990 s. he was involved in various collaborations during the 90 s and appeared on a few cassette releases under the names grodans fodelsedag, marchentraum and mannix system. peter released his first rittowski record on the borft sub label djuring phonogram in 2004. apart from this electro project peter is a member of the bands goz mongo alliance and inyurmania, who has made a few releases on the ufo mongo, pripuzzi and skiboy record labels. this is new electro!

dont is excited to welcome dublins another alias with a perfectly unsettling 4-track ep that veers from 2 step through techno and out the other side, truly bringing something new to the table.this producer has been busy carving out a definite sound of late and that sound chimed so much with the original ethos of dont, that he was immediately sought out and invited to record an ep. his productions bang, whilst managing to hit a delightfully off-kilter tone which is a tricky combination to get right and we really hope you’ll enjoy this special release.

the next modern hypnosis sees the first official vinyl release from another channel. the young german producer jonas schachners (another channel) has been at the fore front of the new wave of ‘dub techno’ that has been lurking in the underground over the last few years. his dubbed out analog sound has left some accrediting his productions as ‘picking up where rhythm & sound left off’. his debut 12” gives us two very unique tracks. the a side ‘lord 35’ is an energetic synth driven tune which sitting at 135bpm, in a two-step style is made for the dance. the b side ‘corruption’ sees an international connection with the original composition created in germany by another channel, then the overdubbing of vocals supplied by ethiopian vocalist enushu taye (the black jesus experience) in her native amharic, recorded and mixed by mystik in his melbourne studio. the warm analog stabs and punchy bassline accompanied with enushu taye’s haunting vocals makes for a beautiful piece of music.

losouls another picture label follows on from eps in 2017 by honesty and the label boss himself with a new two tracker by japanese artist sasaki hiroaki. the yotsume label owner is based in tokyo and his sleek sounds take cues from 80s new wave and look for a soulful vibe in electronic music. 2018 has already seen him release on open recordings and now he offers up some warm house rollers for another picture. ‘eo1 is eight minutes of rubbery drums and loose, scattered percussion, tumbling toms and clicks. dreamy chords light up the background and the whole thing drives ever deeper into the night, always evolving as it goes. on the flip, ‘plain song is just as heartfelt, but icy hi hats and metal stabs are more upright, getting you on your toes and keeping you there for another eight minutes of organic, authentic deep house bliss.

here is anothers second release, a 3 tracks ep from chicagos iconic house producer rick wade, who has reinvented himself in the recent years. this is quite obvious on this record which oscillates between old school and modernity, especially with the track be the one on b2, a futuristic deep house anthem. rick fans wont be disappointed ! dont sleep on this one. vinyl only !

the next release on moreaboutmusic comes from one of chicago houses best kept secrets, often name checked by legends such as mike dunn, marshall jefferson, glenn underground and tyree cooper to name a few. a dj and producer, hugo grew up during chicagos heyday, at one point living with mike dunn and tyree cooper, where they would spend their days producing and recording tracks on the 808, 303 and 909, along with any other equipment they could get their hands on. the on to another time ep showcases hugos talents, giving you two straight to the jugular acid tracks with in, out & in (part 1) and in, out & in (part 2) with the flip seeing the mood shifting slightly with the deeper vibe of on to another time, the ep finishes up with a cut up disco joint the beat goes creating a solid ep and an excellent introduction to hugo h

following a trio of instantly sold out 45s on polytechnic youth, between 2015 and 2017, the home current finally channels a full length album through this bounteous and blossoming uk imprint for select experimental and diy electronic music.
“another way of falling apart” aims to build a wider audience for singular music adorer, martin jensen, a cosmopolitan copenhagen-born artist whose music follows an emotional route that meanders back ultimately to analogue and electronica inspirations of myriad treasurable kinds. this incursion into lp territory follows a decade or more of jensen s passionate engagement with music as the creative force behind singles on static caravan, and as the co-founder of the label second language (until 2014), for which he was the wings behind the celebrated “music and migration” series in support of “birdlife international”. he has also remixed colleen, dollboy, and ellis island sound.

another alias returns with the second installment of white of my eyes. wome002 continues along the path laid out by 001, but takes it a step further into varied moods from the sledgehammer-esque -heave- to the melancholy -creep on the couch. while keeping with his off-kilter rhythms and erratic synth work.

legs 11 was formed when sigmund floyd, of palace of pleasure fame, joined forces with torstein dyrnes from the now defunct playstation duo tøyen, and mysterious bedroom musician nils tveten. during a karaoke-fuelled haze in the seedy parts of oslo, they discovered a shared love of synth pop, post-punk, new wave and house music. drawing on these influences, the band has created a diverse musical universe, ranging from dark repetitive guitar driven tracks, via infectious pop gems, to deep yet melodic dancefloor-orientated grooves. in 2017 they were joined by multi-instrumentalist audun severin eftevåg, who also brought a new instrument into the band: the saxophone! the “another wave” album is hand-picked tracks from their latest works, focusing on a more dancier approach. the house and nu-dance influences of today is mixed with heavy influences from 90’s uk indie-dance acts like the shamen and the madchester scene, and hints of new wave from the 80’s.

another kicks off 2018 with its first release. we are very happy to welcome kenneth scott (from the former duo moniker) who delivers a stunning 3 tracks ep with a deep electro and deep house feel. straylight feat dave aju has been remixed brillantly by the one and only kai alce. analog warm textures and efficient grooves all along this ethereal masterpiece.

for her third outing on the german label jahmoni, marcelle is as inventive and unpredictable as ever. the four tracks on the wittily titled psalm tree ep go from wild techno to abstract dub, and all bear that undefinable marcelle touch of freedom and imagination, which sets the dj/producer so apart from almost all of her younger peers. the ever-travelling dutch lady, who was one of the highlights of this year s nyege nyege music festival in uganda, toys with musical styles and expectations, both live and in the studio she has always deejayed more or less like a musician. this was amongst others recognised by faust founder member hans-joachim irmler, who between 2008 and 2014 released 4 marcelle albums on his klangbad label.

one per customer! after two outstanding tracks on paerels, upsammy is back with a solo ep full of window shattering sci-fi electronica. zona and a window form the dreamy framework of the ep. in between these melancholic songs a rougher club-oriented side is shown. bright beats, sizzling rides and crips melodies, all designed to take you to another place.

scott gilmore returns to international feel with another day. following on from his mini-masterpiece last year, the la musician confidently delivers four new tracks. combining elements of 70s underground psychedelia, kosmische, and library music his music? has the distinct air of something you might find in a dusty corner of someones garage (pitchfork).

nandu returns for his 2nd release on connected with another unique pair of tracks, the first an african influenced song with the mesmerising vocals of oluhle, the second a 909 style acid dark dancefloor workout. 1. nandu & oluhle - umfazi omuhle (original mix)- a gentle almost cautious arrangement building slowly and ethereally with a beautiful selection of sounds and an african influenced nandu rythm with shakers and claves providing an original feel and leaving space for oluhle’s moving vocals. 2. nandu – another jam (another acid dub)- a more aggressive, upfront side from nandu. for the intense spot of the night with twisted groove of claps and percussion, heavier in the lows with a proper 909 kickdrum with the acid line coming in half way through..... hot.
